Trinae Ross, Publisher, Nonfiction Editor, Art & Media Editor
Trinae Ross publishes Stepping Stones Magazine. If something goes wrong, Trinae is most likely behind it. Trinae started Stepping Stones, because too many small press magazines seem to just disappear over the year. (Especially ones for whom Trinae has written.) Wanting to provide a comfy place for creative types to rest their tired feet, this magazine was born.
In addition to running behind schedule, Trinae is an aspiring novelist, Linux enthusiast, sometime powerlifter and PC gamer.
Heather L. Lenz, Poetry Editor
As poetry editor of Stepping Stones Magazine, Heather L. Lenz scours our online submission for poems that bring a twinkle to her creatively refined eye. When not corresponding with poets, Heather is usually sending Trinae stern emails about keeping to schedule. Heather’s passion for creative expression is only matched by her dedication to helping to make Stepping Stones accessible to poets everywhere.
Lisa J. Perry, Poetry Editor
Traversing the landscape of postal poetry submissions, Lisa J Perry, brings a keen eye and quick wit to Stepping Stones Magazine. Starting out as a way for her to express the ideas of her growing imagination, writing quickly became a passion for her, with poetry being her primary focus. As her writing voice grew, she began to branch out into writing short stories and is currently working on her first novel. She recently started a blog as a way of sharing some of her encounters, thoughts, observations and inspirations that cover a wide range of topics.
When Lisa isn’t writing she also enjoys practicing yoga, reading, going to the movies, spending time with her family and indulging in other forms of artistic expression such as pottery and painting.
Nic. E. Turiano, Fiction Editor
Nic E. Turiano is fiction editor for Stepping Stones Magazine. She has contributed as an editor on a number of other publishing projects in the past including Poetry Victims, The New Writers Journal, and two book projects for authors. Her own writing, as well as a thimble of spoken word, has been published in various online publications. Though she says for her, writing is a lifelong outlet for the quirky strangeness she fears would be difficult to maintain in life without.
“I find myself fascinated with all forms of expression, and feel I will always be a writer, but the real sweet-in-my tea comes from reading other writers and being able to help them find a way to be heard. That’s what I put my heart into. And well, that’s why I’m here.”
